Our second full day of touring the island by bus we visited the West side of the island. Today we visited Chamarel, Black River Gorges National Park, Le Morne and the beaches at Flic en Flac. This picture is at Charmarel colored earths, it is a natural phenomenon due to decomposed basalt into clay forming these interesting gullies. We ended the day with a biryani party at Auntie’s Marie Clare house and helped celebrate Jimmy and hers 35th wedding anniversary.

I was on vacation for this week theme at Lake Winnipeasakee, NH and a group of Loons came fishing by my dock. I ran in to the house and grabed my camera and caught this one spreading its wings.

The Bruins put us through a emotional roller coster on their run to the 2011 Stanley Cup Championship, but in the end it was pure joy! It has been 39 years since the Boston Bruins brought the cup back to Beantown and I still remember as a kid watching Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito. It is great to be a sports fan in Boston, we have had Championships in 4 major sports in less than a decade.

Starry starry night… This week’s assignment is long exposure, so I setup my tripod on my back deck and took this shot. The exposure is f/10 for 66 minutes of the night sky. I was not sure what I would get but I am fairly happy. I tried it again another night but the clouds came in and spoiled the shot.
